Review:

“your joy is your sorrow unmasked”

This line has stuck with me, ever since I read this book!

“The Prophet” is a poetically phrased, spiritual book about love, life, death, joy, sorrow, and everything in between!

Written by the famous Lebanese-American poet “Kahlil Gibran” this book revolves around the protagonist “Almustafa”, owner of a ship who resides with the people of Orphalese, the city he has spent the past twelve years of his life, discovering the inner depths of the world, while waiting for his beloved ship to return.

And now that his ship has returned, and he prepares himself to bid goodbye to his dear people of the city, the people, saddened by the thought of him leaving, ask for his wisdom, one last time.

“The timeless in you is aware of life timelessness and knows that yesterday is but today is memory and tomorrow is today's dream”

This short book will teach you so much about life, in much fewer words.

The book has a little touch of classic literature as it was written in the eighties, and will be slightly difficult for beginners to read through its poetic lines. But, worth a try.

A 100% recommendation if you are someone who likes poetry and has a reading level from intermediate to advanced.

Overall, a good read and worth your time!
